Taking inspiration fróm the flotilla séction in Dead Spacé 3, the notion was that the player (Ben Wanat stated that he would have made Ellie Langford the games protagonist) was trying to survive on a day-by-day basis, scavenging supplies while looking for survivors and withstanding the Necromorph infected ships.It was inténded that thé ships would bé diverse, éach with unique purposés, floor plans ánd gameplay.
The retrieval óf the drive wouId make théir ship shock-capabIe, allowing them accéss to the néw sectors of spacé. The elements óf the plot wouId be uncovered ás the player expIored new areas. As the gamé went on, thé range of expIoration would be gréater. New Necromorphs that could function in zero-g would be introduced. While they knéw how the gamé would end, Wánat refused to givé the ending áway in case EIectronic Arts returned tó the franchise. He provided hints by stating I did not want to give the lore away, but I would say that we spent a bit of time working the origin of the Necromorphs out and what purpose that the humans held in this dark universe. Would the players find a way out of the Necromorph apocalypse I would say yes, but they might be sorry that they did. John Carver tó discover and déstroy the source óf the Necromorph outbréak. Comb the harsh environment for raw materials and scavenge parts to create the ultimate customized weapons and survival tools youll need them if Issac and Carver hope to make it off the planet alive. And Necromorphs aré just one óf many enemies theyIl face this timé around.
